RV fridges are less energy efficient and cost a heck of a lot to replace when they die. To use one as a "extra fridge" is not really a good idea.
Not concerned about the cost of power to keep it on. I pay a basic charge for power and, believe me, I don't come close to using the power I pay for. It stays on for convenience and my concern was that this was negatively effecting the life of the unit.
