Both the terminals Delco Packard, and the shrink tubing FOUR to 1 shrink ratio are the best I have ever used. When shrinking sealant tubing onto a wire and terminal, avoid slipping the tubing down to the bitter end of the terminal. This will prevent the meltable sealant from flowing into the slip on terminal and blocking the entrance.
For the most durable joint sealant between terminal sides, male and female, I use 3M SCOTCHKOTE. Apply, let dry, 2nd then a 3rd coat. I used this system submerged in salt water. It simply does not leak even if the wires are flexed.
It´s perhaps not wise to use either nylon or PVC insulated push on terminals for this as these terminals have a quite large void between the plastic and the metal part of the terminal. Te Packard terminal has that magic tongue bent over and running back down the canter of the terminal. It greatly aids conductivity and super greatly retains spring action to keep the terminal connected to the male terminal. Delco Packard invented this terminal then cheapskates came along and got around the patent. The cheapies are the Lucas Electrical grade of slip on terminals ... Yuck!
