A similar thing happened to my TT. I bought it new and have never had the brakes adjusted. When I first bought it I could hear the brakes on the trailer make a noise (like a click) when the brakes were used. I was told that was normal and have heard it up to this summer when I had the dealership check and adjust my brakes. They had to replace the backing plate and repacked my bearings and I didn't hear a click when leaving the shop and noticed the brakes were much more sluggish. I thought it would get better but after driving it 40 miles to my house I didn't notice any improvement. I asked the service writer about the absence of the clicking noise and now they act like it should not make a noise. I will take it back to them in the Spring because after raising the gain on the brake controller I am still not confident in the trailer brakes although they will hold the truck if I manually apply them at a stop.
