I agree the trailer brakes are not working properly.
Does you control have the ability to manually apply the trailer brakes? if so apply them when stooped and try to pull the trailer, the trailer wheels should not roll
I would also replace the brake fluid in the truck. it probably has water in it and is boiling which is causing the pedal to go to the floor. I had this happen in a 34' class A
