Sanitize the first time and then use it. Sanitize to clean out the construction chemicals and oils from manufacturing. After that, any time you add water from processed water (not from a well), you are adding chlorine to your tank and it's sanitizing.
Why do you wash dishes with water you won't drink? Do you think germs in the water won't stick to the dishes? I never understood why anyone does this.
Then, wash your body with it, but then not drink it? So you wash with water that has germs in it, and not drink it. Yet the water runs over your hair, mouth, ears, and every where else. The water dries on your skin, absorbs into your skin, and then you touch your skin, then your mouth, eyes, and ears with the same fingers that just had contaminated water run over them.
Don't make any sense at all.
Drink the water! It has to pass health inspections or campgrounds won't be able to provide water.
