When you are traveling and pull into a camp ground you have no idea how safe the water is. I have worked as a state licensed Drinking water operator for 30 years. First of all you don't know if the camp is on a well or city treated water.
I only worked at a campground for 2 years, but it was an eye opener (in several ways). For example, even with rigorous water testing bad things can still happen . . . like malfunctioning backflow valves, broken mains, etc.
For the most part, you'll probably be fine trusting the water in whatever RV park you're at. Probably.
However, it doesn't take much effort to sanitize your RV tank. Remember, the older you get, the worse your immune system gets.
And for those I-never-sanitize-but-I'm-still-alive guys . . . I know several living cigarette smokers, but I'm still not going to start smoking.
OP, sanitize your tank.
