Try unplugging or disconnecting the converter. It could be a bad input coil but doubtful.
This is the best advice. Instead of throwing parts at the problem, hoping the problem will go away, do some research to find what else is on that circuit. Turn off every breaker but the converter and then go on a hunt to find what else is active. I bet your problem is not the converter or battery, but just a circuit breaker doing its job and tripping when overloaded. I bet the electric water heater is on the same circuit!
