Broken latch on bathroom door.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem. The latch on the bathroom door that holds it open making it the door to the front of the coach has broken twice now. The first time was on a rough entrance from a parking lot to the road that rocked the coach violently even though I was just creeping along at an angle. I replaced it with a bigger latch and thought that ought to fix it. Well on a trip to Houston I broke it again. Has anyone found a steel latch (the original was brass) or an alternate type that would work?
I know quit driving on un even surfaces.
This is on a 38N bounder.

  • since it is designed to be a privacy door while the bathroom is in use, I don't think it was intended to hold the door open when off roading, etc.

Magnets would nicely accomodate the rocking,
  • It reduses the area to heat or ac. I can get by on dash air /heat.
Magnets might be an option. It had a bayonet or some call a dager type latch. I replacesd the original with the largest they had in an on line wood working catalog.

Maybe a magnetic cabinet latch is an option?

yep, it sounds to me like that bathroom door is swung open and held there to give privacy and a dressing area using the hall?? most/many of the are held using a magnetic catch and I don't see why it has to be held open while traveling?
