For longer trips in unfamiliar areas, I use two maps.
Waze is always one of the choices. If the vehicle has in dash, I use that. For the truck which doesn't have in dash, I use my older Garmin with traffic. When there's a conflict, especially when I'm being asked to follow a route that seems silly, I hopefully have enough time to check inrex app on my phone. That app is super easy to scale out to see what is causing the problem. If I don't see an issue, waze gets priority.
