Tri is just a measuring tape. The tape can be accurate. Then you start building a house, - ops, the walls don't meet :)...
Controller is switching to float when NEAR full, not 100% full. 5 AH out of 220 is 95%, so controller works as it should. If you think this prevents you from getting 100% by the evening, then get a better controller that would let you adjust Absorb time and voltage and/or disable Float temporarily.
If battery temperature varies more than 15-20F from controller temperature, a remote temp comp is a must. Otherwise your setpoints are screwed up.
