Cable TV Hook ups

I have searched the forum but haven't found the subject brought up much. This is my first RV and I cannot figure out the right combination to get RV Park cable to work on my TV in the trailer. It's a COSMOS LED and works well on the antenna but nothing with cable. i bought a converter box and run the cable through it ...nothing. However when I put the TV on channel 3 with the converter box hooked up, a black screen says there is no signal. Wife is starting to question my abilities....HELP!
  • Coax Connections
Here is what mine looks like with the faceplate removed. You can see the TV connection and the button facing the camera. The white cable is coming from your roof antenna. The grey cable on the right front, going to the right, is the cable input from the outside. The grey cable in the back, going to the left, runs to a splitter where two orange cables go to the other interior connector and the outside connector. I'm guessing most manufacturers get pretty much the same thing on these kind of parts. Unless yours is more complicated.
  • We had a heck of a time remembering where ours was after we bought the RV,
Look behind the TV, for the button, it's in a dark spot, with a dark wall plate. The thing we have to remember is where we camped last, were we on the antenna or the cable. Thats our experience in RV'n and the TV

Ok I will assume you do NOT have a matrix switch like I do. This is a box with many buttons (BOMB we call it) that can send ANT to one tv while sending SAT to another and CABLE to a 3rd.

Most (Well many) Have a simple wall plate. USUALLY near the main TV it has a TV antenna jack, a 12 volt outlet an LED light and a switch.

Assuming you are the ORIGINAL owner.. Turn the switch off for park cable.

IF YOU ARE NOT the original owner.. Well try turning the switch off. it may or may not work. If it does not work pull that wall plate (2 screws) there should be 3 cables tonnected to the rear.. If there is a "Loose" cable. or a cable that has been extended to who knows where. it connects to the CENTER port on the back of that switch.
  • Do you have TV Input set to 'cable' instead of 'antenna'?

Do you have TV 'booster' OFF (wall plate on/off button where TV coax cable connects to)

Did you do a 'channel scan'?

Does the cable NEED that converter box?-----speak with CG Staff???

Does that COSMOS TV have a 'QUAM' tuner.......check info/manual
QUAM is needed for cable and should not need a converter box unless Cable Service requires it.
    Again......ASK CG Staff???
  • Many have the cable inlet run through the power supply for the antenna. The power supply needs to be turned off.
The TV input will need to be changed to "cable" in the setup menu, then it will need to scan for cable stations.
    No box should be required.
