The problem is knowing what shape those 27s are now in, which needs an hydrometer.
You have overly long gen time if all it does is 13.6. The batts need 14.6 to be properly charged. (see hydrometer results)
Some days are not so sunny, so you have to do some gen time first (at 14.6) and then let solar finish up in whatever time it has before dark.
You need an hydrometer anyway if you get a monitor so you can zero the monitor when it gets out of whack, which is fairly often. You zero it when the batts are full as indicated by the hydrometer.
This might all seem like being pushed where you don't want to go for battery stuff, but there is no rush to buy things --except that hydrometer. One step at a time.
