You also get a PWM controller to do more when in Float. The "available amps" can be found by checking the array's Isc at the time. You can run loads like lights besides whatever the battery is using up to that Isc value in amps. The loads come first, so if they want all the available solar amps, the battery gets nothing. More load and now the battery supplies amps and its voltage drops to where the controller is triggered to return to Bulk.
So where is that OP and his hydrometer readings on those 27s?????
