The point is you can't get full power out of the panels unless your RV or battery is calling for power. The period of gain is only when the RV/battery are looking for same or more power than the panels will provide. The power is clipped by the controller to maintain voltage in absorption and float.
Many are misled by the MPPT statements that say it gives 30% more power as if your panels will provide 30% more all day. Does not happen.
The Morningstar MSView MPPT software actually is programmable using the % of PWM to transition to float. Seems odd but you would have to download the software to see it.
