I have been very impressed with Reo-Link cameras. These are wired IP cameras. Simple to setup. I've had 8 running and recording 24/7 for the past year, 7 are the RLC410 model and 1 RLC420 model. They've only gone down once and that was during a power outage for 2 days after Hurricane Matthew. I record on a computer with 3TB Hard drive. The cameras are 4 MP cameras. They are setup to record at 2560x1440 with 30fps and 2048kbps Max. Bitrate. The 3TB drive stores about 15 days worth of video at those settings.
The software that comes with the cameras works pretty well on a PC or you can buy a NVR for a reasonable price. I went with a computer because I had a spare one that wasn't being used. These cameras don't have to be setup to record, they work just as well stand-alone for monitoring only. They only need to be hooked up to your router. No computer or NVR necessary. Each camera can be setup to can send picture or video when there is motion, as long as there is an internet connection. You don't need a computer or NVR for motion alerts.
Both models I have include audio. The mic is pretty sensitive and conversations are easily heard.
They are a relatively new company. They have great customer service, at least via email. I've always gotten a response within a few hours and it has always been the correct answer.
They sell wireless cameras as well.
