Can I eliminate the expensive coax "multiple outlet" plug?

My multiple coax outlet plug is giving me fits. The bedroom screen is fuzzy and no matter how well I connect the coax cables it remains fuzzy. It seems to be the switch itself thats causing the prob...

Where is your 12V power coming from? Is it fuzzy only when running with the converter on--or do you not have a battery at all?

It may well be that the converter is putting out nasty 12V power that is introducing noise when the amplifier is on. If you don't have a battery, there's a very very good chance of that.
