- wa8yxmExplorer IIISpeaker wire comes in sizes all over the board.. I see someone posted the wire size/run chart.. So as long as the wire is big enough, GO FOR IT.
- DrewEExplorer IIIThere's basically no current in the sense wires, so electrically speaking the wire does not need to be very heavy at all. Mechanical considerations are the main concern in this case. Speaker wire should work perfectly well, though I'd personally want to enclose it in some split-loom tubing for better protection if it's exposed.
- Yes as long as the insulation will hold up in the conditions.

Remote Locatable: Up to 55 feet with four #22 ga. wires. Up to 150 feet with #18 wire. Longer distances are possible with larger wire size
