Are you saying that you have never had a battery in place while traveling with your camper? A battery is a MUST inorder for the the brake-away switch to engage your brakes in an emergency. I suggest that you never leave home without a fully charged batter in place for your safety and mine.

PS. Get a voltmeter and ignore those lights on the panel. They are probably just an approximation anyway.
