Yes, the pump flows right to left. The galvanized box on the right is the water tank, and the hose from the 'T' that goes through the floor is likely the low point drain for the tank.
If it is a tank, no doubt it's the drinking water safe galvanized steel, and soldered on the seams with lead solder. UYuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!
And to think that some folks on these boards think using a common green garden hose is the end of the world?
