- GjacExplorer IIIIf you are looking for an aftermarket system like a Scangage for an OBD1 system I don't believe you will find one. Someone on here created his own system using a PC and a cable that accomplished what you are trying to do. He has not posted on here for over a year but if you search in the archives under Daveinet you might find his posts.
- maillemakerExplorerI'm trying to avoid installing aftermarket gauges if I can help it.
Steve - Adam_HExplorerjkwilson is correct and none of those are the connectors. Google for a picture, but I still don't know if there are any aftermarket devices that can pick up the data from OBD1. 77rollalong probably has the best and easiest answer.
Adam - jkwilsonExplorer IIII think you might be looking for a connector that sort of looks like a house with the peak of the roof clipped off.

Pinout like that if it stays together when posted - maillemakerExplorerI found these connectors under the dash:
And these under the hood on the driver side: - 77rollalongExplorerif you want to read engine temp, best bet is an add in after market temp guage on obd1 systems.
- Adam_HExplorerIts under the hood usually near one of the fenders.
- maillemakerExplorerThanks, Adam! I will check and see if I can find the OBD connectors!
Steve - Adam_HExplorerLook at the connectors, there's a large one and a single wire connector. If the large connector has 2-3 wires going to it, no you cannot read anything but codes. If there are 5 or so wires going to the large connector, it has some data. Not sure what aftermarket scanners can read it though, I always used an NGS or SBDS but now I'm dating myself...
Adam - garyemunsonExplorer III've not seen a code reader for Ford OBD1 that did anything but display fault codes. Not like OBD2 where you can view the data in real time on a display.
