Can't get behind the TV

Good point Bill, I missed that.. yes a 2012 by law would have ATSC receivers in it cause it has been illegal to sell the old kind for several (over 7) years now (That is new sales. USED is still allowed provided they are so advertised).

There should then be no need to access the rear of the TV at all.

Oh, I can think of one other thing that MIGHT need changing in the motor home.

IF the TV is an older NTSC only TV (not a modern wide screen) and you need to add a digital converter/adapter.

Do it at the antenna jack end (Box of many buttons or wall plate) instead of in back of the TV.

Finding the magic combo to remove a TV can be tricky. Is there a frame around the TV? If so, that's like what needs to be removed to discover access to the TV. It might be held in place from screws on the sides or top and bottom. If there is no access to anything from the front, the TV went in somehow so take a look at what can be removed. Access panel in cabinet above (false floor?). Side wall removable?

My flat panel TV is a real PITA to get to. It has some screws on the sides that need to be removed. Do you see any kind of bracket on the backside?

First: There is no such thing as a HD antenna.. The existing antenna is just fine for HD, it is a TELEVISION antenna and from the point of view of the antenna, Digital and Analog are, well, the very same Radio Frequency, and that's all it cares about.

That said the older Winegard Sensar II's can benefit from a couple upgrades that give them greater range epically at UHF.

And there should be no need to get behind the TV either, nothing INSIDE the MH need be changed UNLESS... You are upgrading the indoor switch/power supply/splitter from either the Box of Many buttons or the standard wall plate with a switch, Which is always mounted where you can get at it so you can operate the switch, to a Sensar Pro (I recommend)

And neither of those should require you get behind the TV.

In that train of thought most mounts have a pair of thumb screws on the TV "rails" that hold it in place, with those loose/removed you should be able to pull the bottom of the TV towards you, then lift up to lift the top edge of the mount off the rail.

Feel the back of the TV set from below to find the "rails" on the TV, then feel for the thumb screws on them.

Agree with the above. Resident tech guru Chris Bryant posted about "Converting to HD." He said "Your tools are a ladder and a marker. Climb up and print HD on the antenna head."
That said, if your antenna is an older Winegard, you can add their WingMan element. It helps with the digital/HD channels. Or, as noted, you can replace the head with a newer Winegard head or King's "Jack" head

X2, Are you switching to an indoor antenna? You're much better off using the antenna on top of the 5er for signal reception. Plus all the cabling stays the same. If you want a different antenna due to performance issues, have you considered just replacing the antenna head?
