get a combo unit
Do they make 12vdc CO alarms now. Wasn"t aware of that. Only know about battery ones for $15/18. Propane ones I know and my replacement after 10 years cost around $55. Still cheap if you figure how old it is. And any CO alarm over 5 years old should be tossed... (thats period) CO can't be smelled and you just go to sleep. If one thing in life you MUST afford is a working CO monitor.

Probably a direct replacement of your LP detector is available.
I have a battery CO unit and a combo CO/LP unit.- TakingThe5thExplorerI accidentally picked up a good dose of carbon monoxide poisoning back in the sixties and wound up in ER for quite awhile. After I got home it took forever for me to shake off the effects, but it would have taken a whole lot longer if I were dead. :-( Carbon monoxide does not give out a warning, that's what the detector can do for you.
- bob213ExplorerIf it's not a low coach battery it probably needs to be replaced as stated. Just FYI...smoke detectors should be replaced every 10 years as well(even in your home)

RTFM.
Smoke/fire alarms need to be replaced on a schedule.
Other detectors, maybe not. - BFL13Explorer IIMy 2003 5er did not come with a CO alarm. It does have an LP alarm.
I have seen about the 5 yr limit but ours at 15 years (trailer built in Oct 02) is still flashing green like it should. I can understand that means nothing as far as its sensors go.
However, sometimes when battery charging to high voltages, I forget to vent enough and fumes get into the trailer itself. This sets off the LP alarm which flashes red and beeps. You can also really smell the battery fumes inside the trailer.
Clear that up with venting, and it returns to flashing green, no beeps. This makes me think the LP alarm still works after 15 years, and never mind the "5 year rule."
I don't know. Propane fumes are not the same as battery fumes of course, but you have to wonder. Anyway, I still haven't swapped it out for a new one.
I am willing to have my arm twisted on that. - GordonThreeExplorerWhere does one procure a 12v RV CO detector for $15 - $18?

Those alarms are also hard wired to the 12 volt side of your RV.
Some but not all.
His initial post said he had "changed the appropriate batteries".
Good point though to check the power source before shopping for a replacement. - Sam_SpadeExplorer

The CM alarm continues to beep. I have changed out the appropriate batteries, and it still beeps. What do I do?
IF.....you are sure that there is no source of a "dirty flame" or exhaust leak while the engine or tow vehicle is running......start shopping for a new one.
Available in most hardware stores; usually less than $35.
Be sure to read the label to get a new one with the same capability; might be a propane detector too. - sayoungExplorer
