Carefree slide topper makes bang on extend

Duh. Yeah, no motor. The slide out PULLS it out.
The bang occurs only during the first few inches or inch the slideout comes out.
It is a Carefree. \
The trouble with the "dealer" is that we are fulltime and don't live anywhere specific, and right now we are in FL and the "dealer" is in Ohio. The problem there is that I've run into the idiotic "did you buy your unit from us" excuse, and they won't work on it. I guess I just have to call and call until I find a dealer anywhere around here that will do "warranty" work, the further catch being that the slideout toppers were installed by the dealer after-market.
