CCI 7770 Gas Detector replacement

I have a 10 year old fiver with a CCI 7770 Gas Detector. The detector unit has malfuctioned (Sounds a steady alarm with everything turned off and the unit well ventilated) and I want to replace the flush mount unit with a detector that has a similar cabinet hole pattern. CCI is apparently out of business. Has anyone replaced their 7770 detector and what make & model did you find that was a good replacement size wise. I suppose something slightly larger could be adapted quite easily. I live in a rural area and have to drive to the city to check out other detectors and was hoping for an easy fit so that I could order one in.
Thanx
  • Replace it. 6 years are the limit for most of them. Ebay is a good place to get a good deal.
  • Yes the plan is to replace it. Thanx Old-Biscuit for the replacement link.

A great link from the old-biscuit. I too need to replace mine but, it requires tearing out part of the piping to replace the valve. I may just put a lighted toggle switch for the valve and the detestor in the link.
  • Thanx for the Ebay idea 352. I see in some of the ads that the front of the package does indeed say "recommended CCI replacement" I will order a Safe T Alert 30-442

  • Got my Safe T Alert 30-442 and installed, works GR8. Just a short note to let folks know that it does not fit the same hole size as the CCI that was replaced. The new unit is wider and Shorter so I had to devise a cover plate for the existing hole in the cabinet.
    Thanx to all
