I'm having a problem with my chainsaw leaking bar oil when it's in my pickup. The saw doesn't leak a bit when its setting at home but when it's in the pickup it does. I'm not sure if it's from the heat under the bed cover, the bouncing around or the pressure changes from the altitude? This last trip it leaked enough bar oil to make a mess out of the Cordura bar cover as well as a nice spot on my bed matt. Got out the WD40 and cleaned everything up then cut a slot in an old rubbermaid container I had to set the saw in to try and contain the mess.
Anyone else have this problem with there saw?
That is completely normal.. Just consider it as "marking it's territory"..
I have four different saws and they ALL will leave their mark while sitting.
I store mine on heavy plastic to keep the mess off my shelving..
I would be concerned more if it was not dripping oil, that would be a sign that the oiler is not oiling enough..
