champion 2000i bought at costco.

Drain carb bowl, clean jet.

Use fresh gas with Seafoam.

Current "blend" of Ethanol works OK in cars, usually see regular/frequent use.
However, often Generators sit with little or no use.

If you can get regular gas w/o ethanol in your area - use it.

Call Champion Tech line.

BTW - Besides the yellow ones.....
I've had the same problem with my Honda AND Yamaha.

It's not a Honda!

My guess would be a dirty carburetor but you don't give us much to go on.

How old is it? If he had bought it from Sams, do you think this would be happening?

Have him call their service number. They are noted for great service, when needed.

Now that's the NICE thing about buying something at Costco. I'd let them worry about it.
