Hi BFL13,
It doesn't have the eco switch--but it defaults to running in eco mode, from what I'm reading at Canuck Tire. "features a computer-controlled inverter that adjusts engine speed to reduce noise and fuel consumption"
It has their QPT button, which is like Eco. I have not tried that yet.
It won't run my 75 amper except at reduced voltage and 68 amps out. It shows overload flashing red at 14ish amps on the Kill-A Watt--gen is rated for 14.1a and 1700w. Seems that is what it will do 1700VA. No way in heck is this any sort of "2200", but it can run a 60 amper ok, and is otherwise a nice little unit to deal with.
I think they have branded an older model, "P2200", but we'll see what they have to say for themselves when I call them. - pianotunaNomad IIIHi BFL13,

SidecarFlip,
I expect the "swoopy" design helps with the noise level to a small extent. All the generators I've owned were "unsquare".
I just got one of these while on sale. (549 Can = about 423 US---they are selling fast--several stores ran out locally) It is sort of "boxy". (Wow! I just saw I must have got near the last one at my local store, all gone now. Yipes.)
I will report on whether it can run my non-PF corrected 75 amp charger or my 100 amp PF corrected charger later on in a new topic.

I got it going easily enough, and it is not especially loud. Doesn't
seem to have an Eco setting. 1 US gallon tank. Has parallel connection. Running is 1700 though. Some "2200s" claim 2000 running. - pianotunaNomad IIISidecarFlip,

Thought we were going to need one so I was looking during the storm. Amazon and HD had them but shipping was iffy. Turned out I didn't need one.
BTW. What is the difference in the 399 and the stackable one other than the obvious exterior. I like the looks of the stack ones. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIII see they still offer the box design I prefer (have had one for 4 years now) and never had an issue with it. I much prefer the square box design over the swoopy Honda like design. Easier to store and easier to deal with.
- mradExplorer III just went to the champion website. They are no longer listing them as 2200 watts like they were in july. They are now listed at 2000 watts but can be dual fuel. They also have some digital gauges telling you power output, fuel level and fuel time remaining.

I wonder if they were having issues trying to get 2200 watts out of it and that is why its been delayed for 3-4 months??? - joshuajimExplorer IIOops
