Sound Guy, an OEM can incorporate a HARD START KIT for a tiny fraction of the money needed to retrofit one.
Agree ... and why manufacturers typically don't seem to remains a mystery. :h None of any of the A/C units I've owned over the years - Carrier AirV, DuoTherm BriskAir, Coleman Mach 3+, or my current Dometic Brisk II - has had a hard start cap. The SPP6 I just added to my Brisk II cost me $20 and a few minutes of my time to pull the top shroud, install the cap, and put the shroud back in place. Just too easy. ;)
I can almost guarantee the cost and hassle of a Hard Start kit will be less painful than a compressor replacement.
Yep, one the easiest, most cost effective mods anyone can make to their rig. Just too bad we have to. :M
