Look at DE Fords post. THAT is the BEST way to do it. IF you leave a metal plug in the Atwood, it will "Gaul" after a few years even with Teflon tape. That means the Metal plug will be welded to the threads and almost impossible to remove. Atwood Tanks need frequent flushing for mineral build up, depending on your water quality. Having that fitting with a petcock REDUCES the opening for flushing out debris. Doug
