Soundguy, Thanks for the fuse tip. I'll do that. If I was a betting man, I would bet the WFCO 8955 isn't doing it's job though. From what I've read all over the internet, they fail at an alarming rate. Like I said earlier, I'm not convinced 4 batteries is the way to go. I do value your knowledge and opinion. So, since I'm likely going to have to upgrade my converter/charger and I have 6 AWG wiring, I have to stay at about the 55 amp rate unless I run new 4 AWG wires which doesn't sound like a hard job but I would have to expose one side of the underbelly of my camper as the wiring is otherwise not accessible. Then reattach. Probably not worth the effort. I will Probably just get the Progressive Dynamics PD4655. They get a lot of good reviews and it's pretty much plug and play for the unit I already have. Another option would be to buy a bigger unit and heavier cables and attach near the battery bank. I did get to Sams Club this past weekend and priced their Duracell 6V AGM batteries. $179.73 each. A little less amps (190 @ 20Hr rate) but cost per amp is less than the other brands. They generally get decent reviews and I wouldn't have to buy online and have them shipped.
