Just a few more way-off-topic comments :E
I used the break-off tabs on the 5-15 receptacles in our home in the bedrooms when I wired them. I wanted one outlet in the duplex receptacle to be constantly powered and the other outlet in the duplex receptacle to be switched via a wall switch .... it has worked out very well so as to be able to quickly and conveniently turn off power to possibly risky appliances in those rooms whenever leaving the home. We consider heat generating or "cheaply constructed" appliances to be risky ... such as electric blankets and humidifiers in bedrooms and mobile device chargers, toothbrush chargers, electric heaters, shaver chargers, waffle irons, toasters, etc.. in the other rooms.
Our neighbors lost their entire 4000 sq. ft. home to a fire started by the instant-on circuit in their television. We turn our TV completely off whenever we leave the home.
