I could imagine differences between AGMs and wet cell but why between 3 cells and 6 cells?
Real good read...thanks for the link BFL13. I'll have to re read though as my mind doesn't absorb as well as my batteries I guess. I've more understanding of AGMs advantages because of less internal resistance....primarily faster charging at the higher end of SOC. I was surprised that they may be a little less suitable for solar charging though. There was no discussion on plate thickness advantages which leads to capacity differences, DOD differences and cycling life differences. AGM and thick plates both help with those things…I think. That's initially why I was puzzled with all the talk of Marine AGMs instead of "House" (deep cycle) AGMs....or don't they make them?
Using generalities, doesn't this kind of hold true? 5 lbs per cell = starter battery, 10 lbs per cell= marine batt, 20 lbs per cell = deep cycle batt
