Just speculating here, but if you are talking about 6V GC(deep cycle), Then the 500 cycles is usually correct for 80% DOD.
I was not joking about mine being measured at 100% DOD or 10.5V for 260 cycles. They are UPS batteries. Nowhere in their documentation are they classified or labeled deep cycle. I do not know if they have thick or thin plates. Either way, if each cell has 8 or 12 plates, they still weigh 16lbs 8 oz. That is what I meant with my pizza example.

No need to apologize, I'm fairly new to all this battery stuff, and it's definitely justified to misunderstand me :B
The specs for my CR260 batts is actually 500 cycles for 100% DOD.
