I'll try to clarify some things here.
Yes, when camping usually on shore power, but for short spells while setting up or taking down camp, shore line unhooked and things worked. On two occassions, boondocked (1 day and 3 days). But now that I think about it, the three day trip was 1 1/2 years ago, but still after the first time the issue occurred. I usually disconnect the negative terminal from battery within a day or two of getting home to eliminate any parasitic draw.
Last trip was over Christmas. Gone for eight days, returned on the 30th. Battery has been disconnected since then.
I just went out and checked voltage on battery. Reading on volt meter was 12.3. I reconnected the battery and tried the house lights(LEDs). They would not light. When I pushed the power button for the fridge , its indicator did light up.
