the check valve I replaced near water heater is making a humming sound when I turn on hot water any thing I can do to stop it from making noise

My heater don't have no check valves anywhere, thank God ! And those I know that had them, got rid of them.
There are at least 3 overheating safety devices, check valves not being one.
