Check water level on new battery! And screw-on lids??

Just got two new batteries today from NAPA -- brought them home and checked the water. Each cell needed about two ounces of distilled water. I'm guessing that they ship them with low water so that...

I prefer the screw on lids instead of the linked type. I usually have wires across the batteries and it is easier to take the individual caps off to check the batteries without having to remove a wire.
