Don't use the toilet? :h Why do you have it then? I've heard others say the same thing and I just can't understand the reasoning behind it. To each his own...I suppose.


As for chemicals in the gray... I'm with others on this. The dish soap that is in there should take care of any odors as long as you use plenty of water to flush everything out when you drain the tank. However, if indeed this doesn't help, then I would probably put a few gallons of water in the tank and add a couple cups of Pine Sol and drive to the next campground with that solution sloshing around.

Good luck...stinky tanks is not fun.

I have never seen a roof vent for the black or gray water in camper, they may exist, but the ones I have seen don't have it. Some have a roof vent for the frig, but I don't.There may be a vent somewhere else, but not on the roof.
The bath room sink which flows into the black tank has a trap, as well as the kitchen sink which flows into the gray tank has a trap.
The only things on my campers roof are the AC and fan vent.
I have never needed to use the toilet so far in 3 years,I find it easier to walk to a restroom or just go outside, I find that easier than dealing with******in a hose.If I need to take a leak while in the camper, I use a jug. I rarely use the toilet in my house, there are no toilets on my 4000 acre ranch except for the house and I am usually miles away from the house.

Any factory made camper in the last 20 years comes with these vents on the roof.

Well, all I can say is that you are wrong and I have the pictures to prove it. The only things on my roof are the AC vent,TV antenna, two fan vents and two skylights.
I have seen lots of campers and never have seen a tank vent, they may exist, but I haven't seen one. I have seen them on trailers, but not on campers.
