Naturally...and (design) standards for motorcycle tires differ, too. Each tire type is for a different purpose, thus the different standards. I will say, though, that it seems odd that LT tires, though both by design/use they closely resemble P tires, are NOT subject to the UTQG system...just like ST's.
ALL tires designed for highway use, though, must meet the same
safety standards, regardless of type.

Does anyone have anything to say about the document posted by the O.P., which has to do with t'other Big Myth, that of the "China Bomb"? It's certainly most interesting to read about the duplication/similarities of processes, etc.
A word of warning, though: There are words with more than one syllable in that document so it may not be for everyone...:C
