When I purchased my PW Excel, a few years back, it had one battery in the battery compartment outside and another battery was inside the coach under a portion of the seat which made into a bed. Previous owner had wired the two together.
Went to replace the batteries and was told the battery inside the coach was illegal as there was no vent to it. Just a thought.
I stayed with the one coach battery in the proper outside compartment.
