City water/ fresh water tank box replacement?

Got word from a buddy that a cow got tangled up in my water hose and broke the faucet off out of the ground. Assuming that there is potential damage to my water inlet/fresh water tank box where the hose connects to the RV. How difficult is this to replace? It is as easy as removing it, disconnecting the hoses and reconnecting with a new unit? I won't know the damage until I get out there Thursday but want to be prepared to replace if needed when I move my rig.

Thanks, Rex

  • If a cow ripped the spigot out of the ground, more than likely the same cow ripped the entire assembly out of the wall of your camper. If that's the case, a simple replacement won't be so easy. More than likely the wall itself is damaged where the assembly got yanked. Screw holes are probably all stripped and and possibly the wall itself could be broken. It's possible the plumbing inside the camper is stretched, and joints could have broken. Depending how tangled the cow got, and how frantic it became to free itself, the bathroom sink itself could have been yanked out the wall attached to the plumbing as the cow was yanking the hose.

OK, I'm exaggerating a bit. You can calm down now. Still, don't be surprised if where the assembly actually attaches to the wall on the outside, there is damage to the wall. You won't know until you get there and see it.

Good luck! And, when we drive by and see you taking a shower in the cow pasture, well... we'll all know why now! :)
