Cleaning an awning

I make up a solution of 1/4 cup dish detergent, 1/4 of bleach, and 5 gallons of water.

I brush that on to the top surface of the awning, roll up the awning and drive around the block. (It's about a 10-mile round trip.)

Unroll the awning, rinse top and bottom sides with a hose, and let dry.

Spray on Clorox Cleanup then use a long handled soft bristled brush. Yes, you will get some of it on you so wear old clothes. Rinse well and let it air dry.

We use Simple Green and water. I get under there with a brush with a long handle and scrub till the mildew is gone. Then spray it off with the hose. Please note: You will get wet using this method.
