X2. Unless, you need a new roof... Then you can strip off the old roof and underlayment and go in from that way... We had a customer with the same issue, and mice got into the duct work and had babies, had to replace entire duct work. And all the insulation, you would be surprised how much feces etc.. Was up there. You dont want mouse dropping being blown all over the rig when the AC is on.... His damage was covered under his insurance policy even though his roof was fine. - SidecarFlipExplorer IIINot many options. Mice are prolific poopers. I think I'd access from above rather than below.
- 1. If you want the ceiling cavity completely devoid of the rodent debris. the ONLY best way to do that is to remove the roof on top. Remove the plywood decking on top and clean out and disinfect. Replace any insulation and redeck and replace the EPDM/TPO.
2. Going from the INSIDE will be a nightmare. Trying to cut out all the ceiling panels and then cleaning and then cutting NEW ceiling panels to fit going around cabinets and such is much more difficult than option 1 above.
3. IF you have full coverage insurance, they will pay for option 1. AS long as the cost does not exceed the 80% value of your RV. Doug - jkilroyExplorerUgh. What a pain!
What about Leaf blower and shop vac?
Is it really necessary to remove the roof. Wonder if it would hurt to let it go. - 2oldmanExplorer IIHow did they live among all that insulation?

I have no idea. I caught 2 in a/c ducts. - wa8yxmExplorer IIII agree. you can vacuum the vents out using one of the dryer vent vacuum thinghies (Smaller tube that hooks on the end of the vacuum) if they were ONLY in the ductwork you are good.
If they were in the insulation you are in for a major rebuild of the interior.
Suggestion.. I"ve never had a mouse problem in this RV. Two cats (Nutered and spayed male and female) but no mice.. Seems as much as the cats would love to have the mice come by for some play and stick around for lunch....
THe mice feel on them the cats would munch
So the mice with the cats won't play.. Don't want to become pate.
Yes they run quite far. Least they be served.. TarTar. - AlmotExplorer IIIWhy bother cleaning debris? You don't see it.
Cleaning it out of actual mice would make sense. 2 things work: primitive $3 mouse trap with spring (nuts work well as a bait), or a working cat. Not all the cats hunt. Mice will come down eventually, and cat will get them - or a trap. Cat is better. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorerCheck with your local public health department to see if there are any issues with local mice and their excrement residue. Such offal is never desirable. But in some cases it can be dangerous even deadly.
HANTA VIRUS is nothing to fool with. If your health department says Hanta Virus is not a major risk in your area, you have time and elbow room. But if it is present, treat it as the deadly pathogen that it is.
