X2. Unless, you need a new roof... Then you can strip off the old roof and underlayment and go in from that way... We had a customer with the same issue, and mice got into the duct work and had babies, had to replace entire duct work. And all the insulation, you would be surprised how much feces etc.. Was up there. You dont want mouse dropping being blown all over the rig when the AC is on.... His damage was covered under his insurance policy even though his roof was fine.
