Cleaning Tire Blow Out Scuff Marks

Last month I had a blow out on the 5er (don't get me started on ST tires and how crappy they are!!!).

Once we got over the initial shock and the tires were replaced, the scuff marks remained. I've tried Gel Coat (it worked on my TT when I had a blow out in the past), Rubbing Compound (for a car) and anything else I could find in the garage, but have had no luck.

I want to remove the scuff marks. Any suggestions you have would be most appreciated!

Thanks,

Josh

  • Re..Awsome cleaner...Be very carefull about using it full strength.
I won't use it that way again..Long story.
WD40 does work pretty good on a lot of cleaning projects and won't hurt the finish.
  • Thanks everybody! I'll try those suggestions...

  • Acetone should dissolve the black marks.
If the finish is scuffed under the black marks try a polishing compound.
  • Friend just did it on his Titanium and used Camco Black Streak Remover and alot of elbow grease.
  • Try those little white scrubby pads....Mr Clean. They take all kinds of scuff marks off in the house.
