The LP Detector portion is the section that monitors the battery voltage and alarms on Low Battery.
The detector also has a 'shelf life'===typically 5-7 yrs but can fail sooner.
They are wired DIRECTLY to your RV Battery....as such that are a parasitic draw
Sensor can get 'coated' from dust, animal hair, sprays (expellant) which shortens their life
Expiration date should be on backside of unit
