The link I posted is for 75 ohn BNC's not 50, so that discussion is moot. The BNC is the standard of any TV station on the planet carrying HD video in the studio, and 20,000 per station is common. They carry video that is flat out to 1.5G with NO bumps. Those connectors and the RG-6 we use are swept and guaranteed flat to 3GHz.
For satellite there are two connector standards for any LNB from a simple DirecTV dish, all the way to professional 10 meter earth stations: the garden variety F connector, and a BNC. I've used both and there is zero difference other than installation.
