- azrvingExplorerHow small is your generator? I think my 1997 Jayco has the same ac and Im using a 3500 watt champion with 4000 surge
- j-dExplorer III looked at the rvcomfort site and tried to find parts list for "7000" series. There's "47000" but not "7000."
Please post your full Model Number and Serial Number. Someone should then be able to get specific.
Best I know, you can run but ONE Start Assist Device. My understanding is that (for Compressor only, Fan will usually also have a Run Capacitor...) this is the progression from Hardest to Easiest starting:
1. Run Capacitor Only, No Start Device
2. Run PLUS Start Cap and PTCR Device (Two OEM Coleman parts or combined in one Module like SUPCO SPP6)
3. Run PLUS Electronic Start Kit (Start Cap with electronics in one Module like SUPCO SPP6E)
4. Run PLUS Coleman's OEM Start Cap and Start Relay
5. Run PLUS a kit Dometic offers. Chris Bryant mentioned that this offers easiest starting, but I know nothing about it
If you'll SHUT POWER OFF and take a look on your roof, you can pull the plastic shroud and find:
1. Plate/Label with Model/Serial info. Please post that.
2. Access to Capacitor(s) and Possible Start Device. Please take a picture of that area and post that. - MooneyAviatorExplorerwould there be a disadvantage to more than one cap on it?
- j-dExplorer IISome of the guys here have access to a decoder list that tells what options an RVP AC has, by the full Model Number. If it already has the Start Capacitor controlled by a Start Relay, you've already got pretty good help. The 7300 Wiring Diagram or Parts List will include start assist that may or may not be there.
