I had an ultralight that had a 29 ft box on it. The single AC would lower the temp in the camper 20 degrees from outside temp AT BEST. More often 10-15 degrees lower than outside temp...especially if the camper was sitting in the Texas sun.

I never got around to doing it before selling the camper, but had researched taking out the vent in the master bedroom area and putting a non-ducted unit there, to augment the 15k ducted system that was already in the RV. Article I read, they had run a separate 120VAC power to the camper for the second unit they added. I really see this as the best fix for the problem. I have seen the silver insulation in windows to keep the heat out. Seen the insulating pillow put in the roof vents to keep the heat out. But you pay the same for your camping location whether using one AC or two...and every power stand I saw offered 120VAC plugs in it also. So why not enjoy the view and the full features of your RV?

here is your answer. same here in nc summers. we have a 37ft TT. if you can't get in shade 1 ac will struggle to keep TT interior in the 80's

If you are in Texas for an extended stay and plan to visit other southern states during the summer then you need to add another A/C. But, if it's just temporary then consider getting a portable A/C just to use during these extremely hot days. I keep one around all the time. Some family member or friend needs it at least once or twice a year when their home unit fails. I picked my up used from Craigslist for $175, works great, 12,000 btu's. Just for your consideration, enjoy your camping.

Here in Texas you need 2 AC's if the rv is over 28ft imo. If you have the vent in the bedroom you can add a 2nd unit.

If the question is will it fit where the old one was, then yes. All the roof mount things are designed to go through a 14" square opening. That has been that way for decades.

I think 15K is about the biggest but.. IF you can find one bigger. odds are it will fit.
If you only have one. Many RV's are pre-wired for a 2nd

If you're dropping the temperature inside the RV more than 10*, you're doing great.
