Our info here is that true compressor failure is much less probable than other causes. Our A/C is a Coleman Mach and there's a cover on the driver side just ahead of the open area where you can see the fan motor. There will be a wiring diagram on, in (maybe the back side) of that little cover. Cover about the size of a paperback novel. It probably WILL show a Start Assist, but probably dotted, meaning Optional. A round plastic capacitor with a metal snap ring holding it together at the top would be the Start Assist. It will probably be connected to some form of control device to remove it from the circuit once the compressor starts. The less intelligent start assists use a PTCR device to get that plastic cap out of circuit when the compressor "should have started." Better start assists have a degree of intelligence built into them.
