Right now I have a single 12V deep cycle, marine type.
you need more.
At least 2 times more, to keep it running more than 24 hours.
For TESTING purposes, ONE 12V marine battery will be fine.. However for REAL usage that is not going to cut it.. Just not enough capacity..
If I remember correctly, group 27 Marine battery has about 80 Ahr of capacity, usable at 50% DOD that only gives you 40Ahr.. That will be enough to run your fridge about 10 to 12 hrs provided you use nothing else.
I use one PAIR of 6V GC batteries (the batteries are wired in series to get 12V), this gives me 210Ar of capacity of that at 50% DOD I have 105Ahr of usable capacity. This gives me plenty of power to run the fridge some LED lights and even my furnace for 24hrs without needing to recharge.
I ran 2/0 copper wire and have 6ft total (pos and neg) wire between the battery and inverter. The extra heavy 2/0 wire is there to reduce the voltage drop under the heavy startup surge (10A at 120v is about 110A at 12V)..
